Experience
I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BS in Geology focusing on an Environmental Geosciences concentration. I also minored in Sociology. While still an undergrad, I was employed by the engineering school lab, where I assembled mineralogical data for publication and research. After I graduated, I attended George Mason University and I took courses in Environmental Science and Policy. While there, I was employed as a TA, and I taught 3 introductory Geology labs each semester. While on summer break, I worked at Saint John DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, MD, as a Physical Science and Biology teacher. My thesis centers on the dynamics of the Potomac's phytoplankton population. I have worked hard to instill confidence in math and science in many students, and I can adapt my instruction to each individual student's needs.I can tutor in a number of math areas, from elementary math up through precalculus and statistics. I can also teach a number of science subjects like earth science, chemistry, physics, and more.When I'm not teaching or studying I like to hike, fish, boat, camp, and explore the great outdoors.
